OLPC was founded by Nicholas Negroponte with a core of Media Lab veterans, but quickly expanded to include a wide range of exceptionally talented and dedicated people from academia, industry, the arts, business, and the open-source community. Each individual involved brings a unique skill set, and a deep personal passion, to the project.
Nicholas Negroponte
ChairmanNicholas Negroponte is founder and chairman of the One Laptop per Child non-profit organization. He is currently on leave from MIT, where he was co-founder and director of the MIT Media Laboratory, and the Jerome B. Wiesner Professor of Media Technology.

Edward McNierney

John Watlington
VP Hardware DevelopmentJohn Watlington brings decades of hardware experience designing advanced media processing platforms at the MIT Media Lab. Since then he has served as director of hardware engineering at AudioVelocity and Ucentric Systems, and as a principal researcher at Orange R&D. John is reponsible for the design and manufacturing of the laptop.
David Cavallo
VP LearningDavid Cavallo guides OLPC's Learning Team in assisting countries to develop their own educational visions, local teams, and operational framework, and in producing electronic materials for learning in immersive, connected environments.
Habib Khan
Director of Education for South and Central AsiaDr. Khan has three decades of rich experience in international education development. During that time, he has served in strategic positions within the ministry of education in Pakistan.
Matt Keller
Director for Europe, Middle East, AfricaMatt Keller works with governments around the world to introduce the XO to children living in the poorest and most remote regions of the world. He works to develop implementation strategies, and lobbies wealthy nations to provide resources to the least developed countries.
Anthony Wong, S.B.S., J.P.
President, China and South East AsiaAnthony Wong has three decades of experience in the telecommunications and technology sectors. He is now helping OLPC to promote and develop its mission in China and South East Asia.
Satish Jha
President and CEO, OLPC IndiaSatish Jha has worked at the intersection of technology and management both in global markets and the social space. He has served as a global information management executive with two of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies and as CEO of a consulting firm.
Rodrigo Arboleda H.
President and CEO, Ibero-America & The CaribbeanRodrigo Arboleda Halaby is currently President and CEO, Ibero-America and The Caribbean for the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) Association. Born in Medellin, Colombia, he completed his Bachelor's Degree in Architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1965, and was elected president of the Colombian Society of Architects in Medellín in 1975.
Walter De Brouwer
President and CEO, OLPC EuropeOLPC Europe is an international foundation, which cooperates with Fondation Roi Baudouin. The Foundation assists in the funding and setting up of investment syndicates for LDCs (Least Developed Countries), NICs (Newly Industrialized Countries) and failed states, and serves as liaison between EU Development Agencies, the International Development Organizations present in Brussels and the CSR departments of corporations worldwide.
